Student practice--Observation 6

This is a class of Grade Two. This course mainly focuses on animals, such as camels, gorilla, eagles, penguins, dolphins and tigers. Since these words were mentioned in the last class, they will continue to be consolidated and learned in this class.

First, the teacher asked, questions like"Are tigers dangerous?" "Are lions dangerous?" etc, the students actively answered "Yes" and "no". This round of answers quickly activated the students' prior knowledge and brought them into the classroom.

Then, the teacher distributed practice paper and asked the students to cut it out and stick it on their notebooks. The students took out scissors one after another and began the handicraft activity. Of course, this part will be a bit noisy. Students will start to walk around and talk freely.

Then, the teacher begins to do exercises together. The teacher will call different students to answer the questions.

Finally, there is an interesting animal audio video. The teacher plays the video and pauses after each animal audio, asking the students to guess what kind of animal it is.

After completing the practical exercises, students' knowledge has been consolidated and enhanced. When doing exercises, the teacher will also give clear guidance, explain each question and provide feedback to the students.

This is my first clil class. The content of the class is about continents. For first-grade students, the purpose of this class is to let students know the names of each continent and be able to identify them on the world map. At the beginning, I gathered them in a circle and used a globe to visually tell them the content of this lesson. Then I repeatedly mentioned these contents in the form of maps, videos and paper-cutting practice paper to reinforce their impression repeatedly. Final Reflection

After a semester of teaching, I have learned many practical skills, which can make the class proceed more smoothly. My internship was at a public primary school and I was a first-grade student. Their English proficiency was at the very beginning, so this was actually a big challenge for me. But I have a very responsible mentor who often gives me guidance and suggestions.
