Final Reflection
After a semester of teaching, I have learned many practical skills, which can make the class proceed more smoothly.
My internship was at a public primary school and I was a first-grade student. Their English proficiency was at the very beginning, so this was actually a big challenge for me. But I have a very responsible mentor who often gives me guidance and suggestions. For example: Students are very slow in completing tasks. She said that a countdown/timing could be placed on the screen, so that students can be aware of how much time is left and have a sense of urgency. If students don't understand, there will always be one or two students with good English who can understand. At this time, you can ask them to answer the questions and then make the whole class understand. Let the students come to the front to present. You can also let the students who are good at English present first. In this way, the rest will gradually know what to do, etc.
I usually apply these solutions and implement them when encountering similar situations in the next class. I find that this can indeed have a very good effect, increasing students' participation and making them better understand the content of the class. Meanwhile, I also exercise their abilities in listening, speaking, reading, writing and vocabulary. Teamwork creates posters.
Overall, this is a very meaningful and excellent internship practice experience. I have learned a lot. Of course, there are still many things worth further exploration.
