Teaching Reflection 2

The content of the last class was about continents for first-grade students. This class is about which countries are in each continent. The purpose of this class is to enable students to be familiar with and master the names of at least two countries in each continent. At the beginning, I used the wordwall game to lead everyone to recall the content of the last class and asked the students to come up and answer questions on the screen. The students were all extremely enthusiastic in raising their hands. Then I explained the differences between continents and countries and asked them questions, "Do you know which countries are in Asia?" ..." Then ask them to write on the board, and at the same time I use Google Maps to show them. After that, I repeatedly mentioned these contents in the form of answering questions with maps and slides to reinforce their impression repeatedly. I find that in this class, teaching is student-centered, allowing students to participate in the p...

This is my first clil class. The content of the class is about continents. For first-grade students, the purpose of this class is to let students know the names of each continent and be able to identify them on the world map. At the beginning, I gathered them in a circle and used a globe to visually tell them the content of this lesson. Then I repeatedly mentioned these contents in the form of maps, videos and paper-cutting practice paper to reinforce their impression repeatedly. It can be clearly observed that at the beginning, the classroom discipline was very good and the students listened attentively. However, in the second half of the class, some students began to walk around and talk freely. In class, I will explain with the simplest words and keep repeating to deepen the impression. My mentor's feedback after the class was that she thought it was done very well because she found that most of the students understood the instructions and carried them out. And I also walked aro...

Student practice-- Observation 7

This is an observation class at an Canadian international school in Poland, observing the mathematics class of second-grade students. This class is mainly about division. At the beginning, the teacher asked the students about the definition of division. Some simple small interactions activated the students' prior knowledge. It is commendable that the students communicated in English throughout the entire process and did not talk casually with other classmates in class. The classroom order was quite good. After that, the teacher handed out a piece of paper with 12 circles on it and asked the students to cut out these 12 circles with scissors to make small plates. Then give each person 12 small biscuits. Then, the teacher plays a video about division, such as "There are two people now. How many biscuits will each person get?" Another person came, each person could get how many cookies...." . After the video ended, the teacher asked the students to answer the questions....

Student practice--Observation 6

This is a class of Grade Two. This course mainly focuses on animals, such as camels, gorilla, eagles, penguins, dolphins and tigers. Since these words were mentioned in the last class, they will continue to be consolidated and learned in this class. First, the teacher asked, questions like"Are tigers dangerous?" "Are lions dangerous?" etc, the students actively answered "Yes" and "no". This round of answers quickly activated the students' prior knowledge and brought them into the classroom. Then, the teacher distributed practice paper and asked the students to cut it out and stick it on their notebooks. The students took out scissors one after another and began the handicraft activity. Of course, this part will be a bit noisy. Students will start to walk around and talk freely. Then, the teacher begins to do exercises together. The teacher will call different students to answer the questions. Finally, there is an interesting animal audio vide...

Student practice--Observation 5

This is a class of Grade Three. This course is mainly a review class. This unit is mainly about occupations/career (such as teachers, nurses, police officers, pilots, vets, doctors). First, open the exercise book and do the exercises. First of all, it is listening. The teacher asked the students to answer the questions. Students can stand up, walk to the screen and touch it to complete the answers. This has greatly enhanced students' participation and enthusiasm in class. They are scrambling to raise their hands to go on stage. Later, the teacher selects students to come to the stage and perform silent imitations, allowing the other students to guess what profession it is. Everyone participated in the class very actively and positively. After completing the practical exercises, students' knowledge has been consolidated and enhanced. When doing exercises, the teacher will also give clear guidance, explain each question and provide feedback to the students. The teacher also prepa...

This is a class for Grade One. The topic of this class is what we can do in the kitchen/bathroom? etc. At the beginning, the teacher gathered the students in a circle, took out the flashcards and asked the students where this was. This effectively activated the students' knowledge and enabled them to review the words. The students answered very actively, such as "kitchen", "bathroom", "bedroom" and so on. Then the teacher took out other cards about some activities, such as brushing teeth, washing face and cooking. Then ask the students, "Can we brush our teeth in the kitchen?" The teacher uses the simplest sentences to help students understand the questions as much as possible, and then the students will respond to the teacher actively. Then return to the seat and open the textbook. After getting familiar with the relevant vocabulary. The teacher asked the students to open the activity textbook and do exercises. First, it was listening. The t...
